To avoid frustration or confusion, I will explain how this Blog is a “Gaming Travel Blog” and not a “How-to” on game operation. I find Vanguard: Saga of Heroes to have an incredibly immersive world that allows a player to pretend to live there and not simply play it as if it were just a game. It seems to me it is a rich living fantasy world to go on vacation to. This Blog is an attempt to simply write about my character’s (Abernacky) journey through the land in much the same way a person may write a Blog about there visit to Japan or any other country. I’ll be writing from the perspective of a person visiting a new culture: the picturesque vistas, the local architecture, the people and their histories.
This Blog will not satisfy you if your looking for information about fighting monsters (although I’m sure I will be doing that), how to use the diplomacy system, or any other facet that explains how to play the game.
It won’t be too experimental, although it may take me awhile to develop a proper prose. I want to strike a nice balance of realism with… the real world. In that sense, it’s not a hardcore RP (Role Play) Blog either. I simply want to be able to write as if I’m living in the world, but create a nice level of suspension-of-disbelief.
So if that sounds like something you’d be interested in, then I’ve already succeeded before I begin. Come along as I experience the local people, customs, taste the food, visit historic sites, and generally try to enjoy myself in this huge magnificent world called Telon.
