A Flyff World Championship was held and we were given the opportunity to interview the winning guild and have them show us around the game. CM Rabidfish joined us as well and the night turned into a crazy PvP extravaganza with giant bosses being spawned all over the place.

The onset of console-based games becoming online-capable, the focus of MMOs changing to casual and possibly more co-op friendly and the onset of new technologies have provided multiple avenues for MMOs to travel. This is, of course, subject to business and whether they want standardized, assembly-line MMOs to generate risk-free revenue or automated all-in-one boxed worlds that can be run with little continual upkeep.

Both last year, and now, this year have been incredibly fun and I’ve received very thoughtful gifts. This year I received a very cool, unique piece of artwork from Larry Elmore‘s artwork. That’s right! When it arrived, it was in a tube, so I naturally guessed “poster”, but it was Dragons of Norrath by Larry Elmore.

It’s a very awesome piece of artwork that I am going to find just the right frame for. My Secret Santa must have known I am always on the search for classy game-art, and this fits the bill.

Whoever you are, thank you very much. And thank you, Stargrace, for hosting another wonderful year of Secret Santa!

With the hype that ArenaNet has turned every MMO staple on its head, what could there possibly be to look forward to? What if there is no dungeon running for loot drops to move onto the next dungeon? Or what if there is but all the things that players have come to expect as being the purpose and rewards for dungeon running are totally changed to the point that it won’t even resemble dungeon running. I might not give us the same hunger, excitement, anticipation or motivation to run dungeons that current dungeons give us.
