I just tweeted this and wanted to make it a Question of the Day.
Do you think adding in a periodic percentage-based attack for instance-bosses would encourage(see: force) players to use strategy and enhance gameplay?
The idea behind this is that a boss may require you to stand in a specific place to keep from taking damage from a special attack, but the special attack would be a percentage of the player’s attributes, health or other figure. This would mean that no matter what level you were or how geared you were(to an extent) you would take some massive damage that either killed you or put a hurtin’ on you to the point you had to worry.
The damage the player can do doesn’t change, so he or she could still reap all the fun benefits of being uber-powerful and downing the boss super-fast, but it would make playing the game a little less retrograde.
